Profile Summary

Waqqas Akhtar completed his Engineering studies in the field of Telecommunications from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. He then worked with Nokia-Siemens-Networks (NSN) in a cellular infrastructure deployment and configuration project in the capacity of Network Engineer for almost 2 years before pursuing Masters studies in Radiocommunications from Supélec, Paris, France. He then worked at the R&D center of France Telecom (Orange Mobile Group) in the capacity of R&D Engineer for a little over half a year before accepting a PhD Research position at Telecom ParisTech (academic collaboration partner of France Telecom) in the field of Hybrid Fiber-Radio Systems. For 2 years now, he is involved in cutting-edge research on next-gen Radio-over-Fiber networks employing injection-locked semiconductor lasers at the heart of Communications and Electronics department in Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, ParisTech, Paris, France.
