Dr. Matthew E. L. Jungwirth is the Manager of Technical Content & Scientific Publishing at SPIE. He earned his PhD from the University of Arizona under Prof. Eustace Dereniak studying adaptive optical zoom using deformable carbon fiber mirrors. He has 18 patents and 15 publications covering a diverse array of topics such as barcode sensing, quantum information processing, structured light illumination, and real-time alignment techniques.

He currently oversees all the Press publications at SPIE including Monographs, Tutorial Texts, Field Guides, and Spotlights.
